The lounge, set in the 16th-century ancient palmento, is the perfect stage for a journey through Etna’s produce and wines. The Etna towns hold one of the oldest, most treasured winemaking traditions in the world. Every glass tells a story: dedication to the land, old farming traditions, deep knowledge of a complex terroir. It’s a lovely way to discover the area, starting from the fruits of its own land.
An expert sommelier guides you through bold, full-bodied wines, each one showcasing, through its colour and aroma, the qualities that made Etna DOC famous the world over. Choose your labels, choose your style; a friendly chat with the sommelier comes first, then a tailor-made tasting built around your taste.
Every pairing is designed to bring out something specific: the spice in Nerello Cappuccio, the dry edge of Nerello Mascalese, the velvet in Catarratto. Think of it as a lovely preview of the full Strade del Vino tour, which stops right here in Viagrande.
The Grottino, our treasured wine cellar, holds more than 150 national and international labels. Pair them with local cheese and charcuterie boards, or with a signature aperitif from chef Giuseppe Corda.
Cooking Classes
